How Do I Start A Website?

I know the basics of how to use a computer, but I would like to start my own website. Is this a difficult task, or something a simple user could accomplish?

I have built a couple by buying the domain & the online site designer on godaddy.com
It is pretty easy, & fun too.
Nobody ever looks at them, but who cares?

If you’re going for the super-simple, very user friendly route, I’d check out webs.com (formerly “freewebs.com”).
Easy way to make a free web page that’s pretty customizable.
Check it out, I’ve used it & loved it!

There are MANY sites that offer templates….for a price. You owuld simply pick your template & add your info. This limits creativity. Most web designers use HTML/CSS coding & write their site in wordpad. There are a few sites (if you search hard enough) that offer free web sites such as:
    https://signup.officelive.com/Signup/Default.aspx?sku=SBBase&signupsrc=SBHome&lc=en-us
Once a website is created, you will need to pay for a domain name (www……….com, org, net etc) as well as a host for your site. Depending on your internet provider, some, such as Comcast, provide free hosting for a website, & additionally free templates….SOMETIMES. You will also need an program to upload your site to the web (some hosts will provide this for free. (godaddy.com). I used WS_FTP downloadable on the web if you do a google search. Most sites offering this uploader provide step by step instructions. Hope this was helpful

Depends on what the purpose of the website is. Are you wanting to earn money with your website?
Is this going to be a business or are you just going to through up a site that doesn’t land on the first couple of Google search listings?
If you are not planning to build a profession looking, income earning successful site then by all means go with Freeweb, or some other free hosting builder.
If this website is something you are serious about then you need the best program you can get for the money. Learn to build a successful website that earns you money every month for your effort.
The program I use is great & all I knew how to do on the computer was e-mail & surf. If I can build a successful site so can any one. I’ve got #1 listing for a couple of my pages in less than 5 months. So this program definitely works.
Check out the resource below to see how I did it.
    Good Luck

Try Blink Web or Wix, their easy to manage free website (or blog) has cool features that include drag & drop capability, switch designs on the fly, youtube & google video, custom html, upload images, flikr photo gallery, visitor stats & more. You can also buy a new domain instantly, or host your existing domain for free & make it your own (www.yourown.com)
If your looking for something more advanced but still user friendly then try Easy Site Build, XSitePro or Sitebuilder Designs, they have everything you need in building your own website: domain name registration or domain transfer, web hosting, web builder, site maintenance & email accounts. Everything is laid out in an easy to follow step by step instruction. Some of the features included enable you to add your own themes, videos, images or mp3 music making your site unique to you. Pricing is comparable & affordable too.
I hope that I was of some help & answered your question.
