How Much Does It Cost To Create A Website?

I am exploring some possibilities of starting my own business & want to know how much it costs to have a website created. Ideally I would like to be able to sell products & concepts online. I am pretty good with computers but have no experience in web design, Would it be possible to do it myself or with the help of some friends. How long does it take? & how can i get a webaddress? where do i buy or rent it from & how to i check if the availability of the web address.

You can get a domain for about $9 a year (U.S.) from http://www.godaddy.com & you can get hosting from somewhere such as http://www.p42hosting.com. Then just go to http://www.w3schools.com & you can learn how to actually program the website. Which isn’t really that hard once you get the hang of it.

    Take out the spaces.
I’m using this for my website for an online world called Second Life because I own a corporation called The Pear Store, a spin off of Apple & JustHost does fine.

About 4$ a month for unlimited space, & you get 100$ in advertisements; MySpace, Google, & Yahoo!.
Also to make a full website like you are describing, about a few months depending on your size & number of workers on the site, ect.
Mine is remodeling so it looks crappy right now. lol.

I recommend one of these http://www.webhostingtable.com
Fatcow has the best offer right now.
    Their standard price is $88/year
but they have the 50% sale right now.
    Disk space: Unlimited
    Bandwidth: Unlimited
    A Free domain name
    Unlimited domains & subdomains
    Price: $44/year
They’re one of the oldest hosting companies, founded 1998, they’re also one of the largest, currently hosting about 500,000 websites.
Their hosting plan includes a web builder, so you can create your site just by drag & drop (without any programming), or you could install Wordpress (easy, one click install from their control panel), choose a theme that you like, & start adding content.
P.S. You can check the availability of a domain name with any hosting company or a domain name registrar, but since majority of good domain names are already taken the fastest way would be just to use http://instantdomainsearch.com/ & then just double check through the company that you choose to host with, just in case instantdomainsearch got it wrong.
