How Do I Create A Professional Website?
I would like to create a website for my mother’s spa business which specializes in beauty & what not. I was hoping someone may be able to help me w/ this. I think starting from scratch may be the option that appeals to me the most.
IF POSSIBLE I WOULD LIKE IT TO BE FREE

If you want to use a free host that will let you build from a point-and-click interface, try http://www.weebly.com.
If you want to start from scratch by hand-coding a document, start at

or

Building a successful website is more than putting something on the web. Please consider a site builder that helps you with writing your pages, keywords & building traffic, etc
See:Http://www.sitebeginning.com
Hope this helps!

Hi =],
Take a look at Office Live Small Business. If you want to start from scratch its a great place to start- it is template based, meaning you don’t have to learn any coding to make your website. You can also add shopping carts, a contact information page, as well as post pictures of work your mom has done before so that potential customers can see her work.

Hey!
I don’t know much about making websites & all but I came across this site where you can get free website templates & page layouts, flash templates, business templates, css templates, wordpress themes & joomla templates. Once you get started on your website you can download the template you want for your website.
Here is the link…

I hope it helps
And good luck with your website!

First of all, “professional” & “free” cannot be used in the same sentence (not even on the same page!).
A proper domain & hosting plan can cost as little as 50$/year.
If you can’t afford that, then you are not a “professional” & will never make anything “professional”.
That’s for the bad comment…
Professionals very rarely rely on IDEs to design their sites: they start with a mockup, as an image, made by a professional GRAPHIC artist (if they are not good artists themselves), then plan their actions, developing the specs “what & how” the site will do & work.
After, then start coding.
Good coders use a simple Notepad (plain text editor).
Reason? They can fine tune the site as they go along, & for all browsers. They have a code that is clear, understandable & easy to maintain (something you will never have with & WYSIWYG software!)
Then they test their site on several browsers…
If you start from scratch, get a LAMP server, a proper domain, & learn HTML, javascript, php & MySQL at http://www.w3schools.com & http://www.php.net.
Good luck!
