Web Design Beginner

I’ve tried Geocities.

Legally I mean. And one that’s not a scam. I want to do a lot with a website, & I also want my own url.

I am looking for a website that I can record thoughts about my pregnancy, monitor weight gain, record baby names, etc. I would just go buy a book but I was looking for a free way out. Any suggestions will help. Thanks!!

Cheap question, but I’ve been searching online for a site that is supposedly ‘free’. Well, I found Yola as the first on the search results & had the luxury of making the site for free only to get buried by deals & advertisements they promised they wouldn’t send me. I was wondering if there was any way to create & PUBLISH a website for free. Thank you in advance.

I’d recommend Wordpress because it’s an easy CMS that’s doing a lot for you.
There exist a lot of great tutorials how to create your own wordpress theme.

I need to have a shopping cart for my graphic design site where you can purchase web design or flyers, business card etc..
I don’t need it free but at least in the beginning I do because I don’t have a lot of money for start up costs, I have seen a couple that let you have the program for free at first.
But how does it work when someone pays with their credit card? Do I need to get an account somewhere for that I would like it to be like any website where someone can just add items to their cart & check out paying with their credit card.
I don’t want to use paypal. Thanks
