Web Design Beginner

I see that someone else has asked a similar question & notepad was suggested if the client knows html. Is there a way that they can edit the body text or add a link without looking at any html?

I need the html code or program to put on my website like craigs list or myspace. i really need help i know html but i cant find the cod or a program to help me.

If you are new to it, start the right way:
NO FRONT END EDITOR… just Notepad. Stay away from coffeecup, dreamweaver & all others.
You write your code in notepad, you FTP it to your site & check the result. If it is pure HTML, you can open your file with IE (from your drive) & see the result.
A good way is to check the source of some websites: this will guide you to what is necessary to make a site.
Need help with coding? go to www.w3schools.com: you will find HTML, XHTML, PhP, mySQL & all you need to know.
Once you master HTML, add a bit of javascripts (Google for scripts: there are masses out there & for free).
Later, get more proficient with PhP & mySQL.
But, in ALL cases, do NOT use editors: they make crap & unmaintainable code…

Alright, so I want to create a webpage that will be viewable on 800×600. For this I want to know how many inches would be optimal for say a table that I wish to span across the whole screen.

I went to a website that let me create a website very easily. Unfortunately it just gave me code at the end of the process. I dont know what to do now. I have my domain name, hosting account, & everything. I just dont know how to actually get it on the internet. Is there a way to do it with notepad or MS word? I dont have frontpage or any other web builders or FTP servers

Im looking to create a website where visitors can interact with a certain theme & can then use that theme on there website or myspace which links back to my site if a person clicks on it.
As an example there is a site called mybannermaker where visitors can upload there own pictures & change settings to create their own banner which they can then paste to their myspace page. If someone clicks on their banner they are braught to my page to creat one themselves..
This is the exact idea that i would like to impliment into my website. Can anyone please help with a site or program where i can learn all this . or have it done for me.

I know all this stuff, but i’ve really haven’t done any real world projects, most of my portfolio is ficticious stuff, like the cafee townsend project in dreamweaver & the aquos site in cs3 ? any tips ?

I want to create a website that if you see it in big monitor it fits, & if you see it in small monitor it fits too. How can I do that?

I am a beginning web design student. I am creating HTML documents in Microsoft Works word processor but cannot figure out how to view through my web browser (internet explorer) to check my work? It keeps saying that it cannot find document even when I check my computer. Any suggestions?

I just started learning HTML, what do you recommend I study next to become a good web designer? And also, do you know of any free online courses/ tutorials for those?
