Web Design Beginner

I need help for a Web Design class.
They gave me a bad link, my deadline is soon, & i just don’t have the time to research this right now.
So please, please help me out.
1. Describe how the internet was first developed.
2. Describe the development of the World Wide Web. Whose idea was it, how did it begin, & how did it change how people use the Internet?
If you could help me out with these, i’d really really appreciate it.

Im going to school in New Zealand & want to make a website to put pictures & stuff on. I tried myspace & facebook but it isnt realy what i want. i was thinking that i should just start my own website but i dont know how, can someone help me?

I’d recommend Wordpress because it’s an easy CMS that’s doing a lot for you.
There exist a lot of great tutorials how to create your own wordpress theme.

The 24-year-old web designer who devised the website said that he has been overwhelmed by the response to his project, which grew out of a conversation with his friend Jørgen earlier this year about the creative potential of the web.
But what began as a “silly art project” had grown into something more meaningful, he said, showing how the internet could help spur traditional family activities & old-fashioned fun.
“It’s become a way of spreading joy & to get people to turn off their televisions & creating something real,” he said.

I had a virus on my laptop called antivirus live which hijacked the whole system. I downloaded norton 2010 on another profile but it wouldn’t find the virus even in safe mode. yesterday i logged on & noticed that the virus appears to be gone but the whole systen is running slow as all hell, it literally takes 15 minutes for the settings to load. i also can’t get the wireless router to work, every time i click on the icon it opens a window that says-
“windows cannot configure this wireless connection,
if you have enabled another program to manage this wireless connection, use that software.
if you want windows to configure this wireless connection, start the wireless zero configuration (WZC) service. for information about starting the WZC service, see article 871122 in the microsoft knowlege base on the microsoft.com website.”
needless to say i can’t start the service & the website’s directions don’t work. I thought maybe the virus was still there screwing with the wireless router, so i tried loading other antivirus tools like hitman pro & avg onto a usb drive fom another computer & then loading them onto the laptop, but none of them will install without internet access.
The laptop is an acer so maybe norton is just too big for it. is it just norton slowing it down & screwing with the wireless router, or is there still a virus? I don’t want to remove norton because the history says that it “quarantined” a program called Virusdoctor, & i’m afraid that if i uninstall norton that virus will come back. So anybody know what’s wrong & how it’s fixed? your help is greatly appreciated

I have learnt how to use Microsoft expression web to create a site. I just need to get it up & running.

when i open internet explorer i want a page with things i put on it (like youtube videos & stuff like that) to come up. is there any way to do that without creating a website?

I am a beginning web design student. I am creating HTML documents in Microsoft Works word processor but cannot figure out how to view through my web browser (internet explorer) to check my work? It keeps saying that it cannot find document even when I check my computer. Any suggestions?
