nvu.com is a good one for start but remember most of those website software who provide templates are already being used by others & uploaded to the internet ,what that mean ?
its mean you will be risking the duplicate of your site & being penalty by search engine so your website will get lost among others ,
the best way is to get a new templates that not many are having it, such as those template who sell for a limited number of people only & give you a a total control to change it like PLR templates
and make sure those Templates are css not tables cause search engine will not crawl your site if your page are made of tables not css
the best way tog et those templates is buying a new release one , i found Joel Comm templates is the newest one available It will be remove on 7th may 2008 so I left the link for your references
also Joel Comm will give you a free video tutorial for any one don’t have a website & want to build a website from css template

I want to build a website that has a function similar to friendster. What software should I use & are there any available tutorials for that?

I have 2003 but when my students use it to create websites it has problems with how it appears on IE 8 chrome & firefox. It won’t show the navigation in IE 8 & it won’t play the music in the other browsers. So if you know of something that is simple like publisher 2003 it would really help me out.

my question is what course should i do next —— asp.net , or php or java
i am interested to be programmer to work in both windows & linux platforms, or any other languages to learn also interested to develop web based apps , currently i am doing web designing & the tutor told me you should do java & asp.net , he told me that plus point of java is it will never get kicked out & will remain for years , i dont want merely to be just a web designer my ambition is to be a programmer , what more short term courses can i do to become a good programmer in windows or linux + good website maker

I am new to web design & have to create a website for me & my local organization but do not know how or where to begin. I do have MS Frontpage 2003, but it is rather difficult to do what I want to do. I am very comfortable using PowerPoint & MS Word, & want to know if there is web design software out there that works similarly to MS PP. What other software out there will let me work as effortlessly as PowerPoint does when I create my website?
