Web Design Beginner

Legally I mean. And one that’s not a scam. I want to do a lot with a website, & I also want my own url.

I see that someone else has asked a similar question & notepad was suggested if the client knows html. Is there a way that they can edit the body text or add a link without looking at any html?

I already have an idea on the domain & etc. But it a SNS hosting site better suited then a regular hosting site? And would I need PHP to make user accounts on the site? I have dream weaver would that cover it? How do I make the accounts etc? Thank you very much!

I used to know this website that you could create your own organization web & you could change the colours of the bubbles & everything but i forget what it is called, do you know?

nvu.com is a good one for start but remember most of those website software who provide templates are already being used by others & uploaded to the internet ,what that mean ?
its mean you will be risking the duplicate of your site & being penalty by search engine so your website will get lost among others ,
the best way is to get a new templates that not many are having it, such as those template who sell for a limited number of people only & give you a a total control to change it like PLR templates
and make sure those Templates are css not tables cause search engine will not crawl your site if your page are made of tables not css
the best way tog et those templates is buying a new release one , i found Joel Comm templates is the newest one available It will be remove on 7th may 2008 so I left the link for your references
also Joel Comm will give you a free video tutorial for any one don’t have a website & want to build a website from css template

Yes. I’m the dummy. There is so much information out here, it’s hard to figure out the best thing. I have no programming experience, & a small amount of web design experience mainly using Dreamweaver. I’d like to start an online community, with moderators, passwords, users, etc. I’d like a private forum for just the moderators. I’d like people to be able to search the forums, & NOT have avatars, but be able to use emoticons. I would like automatic passwords emailed if someone looses them, & control of design & setup. I’d like a small area for advertising on the side if necessary. I’d like user guidelines to be automatic when someone signs up & have them be able to have instant access when they verify their email address.
I’ve read about a lot of different software, & have NO idea where to begin. I need something EASY for me to set up & manage, but still be able to have a lot of the above features & maybe more if necessary. I’d like to have an online chat area where we can have meetings nightly if we’d like to. I’d like to have a blog area too for just the administrator or moderators.
There are a lot of hosting services with Free forum setup, but I have no idea how easy any of this is. I would obviously need support in the beginning
Also, is there a way to get the whole site semi complete & test it without making it live?

hi, i have created a website using frontpage. the website displays perfectly on my laptop IE & mozilla browsers. however when i visited the website on a pc, with a bigger screen, the whole of my homepage used only half the screen. how can i correct this?
